Despite a slim discography, cult favorite duo the Skitzofreniks have been important mainstays in Boston's hip-hop underground since the early '90s. Originally formed in Cambridge, MA, the two - rapper Charlie Bawles (aka CheckMark) and DJ/producer Eddie Bones - first began recording in 1991 and earned their reputation almost exclusively from their local performances. In 1998, they self-released on CD-R the On My Own SH!T EP, which landed them a recording deal with Boston's Brick Records. Skitz is a DJ, producer and recording artist releasing hip hop records. He co-presented the Original Fever show with Rodney P on BBC 1Xtra radio station until 2007. His first full length album, Countryman, was released in 2001. His latest is the 2010 release Sticksman which was accompanied by a remixed version entitled Remicksman. He has also released a number of mix CDs including Badmeaningood and the Homegrown series as well as countless singles.
