Formacja AAF została utworzona przez kilku przyjaciół (Dryden Mitchell, Mike Cosgrove, Terry Corso i Tye Zamora) w 1995 roku, w Kalifornii. Na początku kapela nagrała wiele niezależnych albumów (między innymi Greatest Hits w roku 1999). W roku 2001 odnieśli swój pierwszy poważny suckes, a to za sprawą covera utworu Michaela Jacksona Smooth Criminal. Album, na którym znajdował się ów cover, nosił nazwę ANThology. Krążek ten został odznaczony jako jeden z najlepiej sprzedających się albumów w USA (2001), oraz otrzymał tytuł platynowej płyty. Llama Farmers sprung into existence in a school classroom in Greenwich, London sometime in 1996. Friends William Briggs and Brooke Rogers, bored of algebra, asked the 14 year old Jennie Simpson to join them on bass in their then nameless band. On her first rehearsal Jennie brought along her older brother, Bernie Simpson, for moral support but by the end of the rehearsal he too had been recruited on guitar and vocals. Cody is a folk-singer’s folk-singer and a poet’s poet. He was born and bred in Delavan IL, population 25, surrounded by the endless skies of the American Midwest. Before moving to Chicago in 2003, Cody tried his hand at sessions in Nashville and carefully hewed and tested his art in college town bars and honky-tonks around the Midwest. Farm was a late '60s band from Southern Illinois, whose bluesy, country rock style was very similar of that of The Allman Brothers, and Canned Heat. In fact, Farm did an excellent version of the The Allman Brothers' "Statesboro Blues", which is featured on their first and only album, and opened for some big name acts of the day such as Canned Heat. Farm so impressed Canned Heat's manager at the time, he offered to represent them, but the band turned him down.
