Audioslave - amerykańska grupa rockowa, założona w maju 2001. W skład formacji weszli: były wokalista zespołu Soundgarden - Chris Cornell oraz instrumentaliści zespołu Rage Against the Machine (Tom Morello, Brad Wilk, Tim Commerford, bez frontmana (Zack de la Rocha). Po ponad roku od założenia zespołu w 2002 na światło dzienne wyszła pierwsza płyta, Audioslave. Pierwszym singlem promującym płytę, była piosenka pt. Cochise. Nad produkcją czuwał Rick Rubin, odpowiedzialny również za brzmienie płyt takich zespołów jak: Slayer, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine. Andreas Werner is one of today’s most prolific figures in the incredible Techno universe of Cologne. He encapsulates a delicate rhythmic sound and expression that is best exemplified in his 12” Zwrtshak Drive—a favourite among artists such as Guido Schneider, Richie Hawtin or Ricardo Villalobos on his most recent tour. What would it sound like if we’d push over our record shelves and then glue the pieces back together? Chekhov guns is the result of this puzzle; the third audiotransparent record. Together with producer Corno Zwetsloot the band took two years inside a fully analog studio (no computers used for recording!) to assemble the thirteen songs.
