Wagnerian rock is a genre mainly popularized by Jim Steinman, as a form of rock opera in the style of Richard Wagner and Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound", also known as the "Spector Sound". Typical of the genre is a theatrical sound production, rock and singers capable of operatic performances. Notable examples include Total Eclipse of the Heart, I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That) and Bat Out of Hell. .
