Yakuza foi formada em 1999 pelo quarteto de instrumentistas de Chigaco, Jim Staffel, Eric Plonka, Bruce Lamont e Eric Clark. Utilizam de instrumentos incomuns, como o saxofone e clarinete, e incorporando o free jazz, world music e da música psicodélica. Membros atuais: Bruce Lamont - saxofone, clarinete, vocais, efeitos James Staffel - bateria, percussão, teclado Matt McClelland - guitarra, vocal Ivan Cruz guitarra-baixo e vocal .

Pampa Yakuza is an Argentinian pop/rockband from Liniers, Buenos Aires. Founded in 1997, the band recorded two albums (Carnaval para tu desconsuelo (2003) & Orilla(2006)) and will release a third album in 2007. Their music is related to the strong Argentinia/Uruguyan movement of bands who make happy, danceable pop/rock music with strong ska/reggea influences. .
