Sotajumala foi criado em 1998 por T. Otsala e K. Orbinski. A banda assumiu sua forma final em 2000 quando J. Häkkinen, A. Romo, P. Lapio e H. Lastu entraram na banda. O primeiro promo-CD foi gravado em dois dias, no Sundicoop studio, Savonlinna por Tuomo Valtonen nos dias 16 e 17 de setembro de 2001. They met first time when they DJed at one of Copenhagens longest running club nights, the Sunday club "Offline", and quickly became unseparable friends and production partners.
