INXS foi uma banda de rock e new wave formada em 1977 em Sydney, Austrália. O grupo começou como The Farriss Brothers mas mudou de nome depois do lançamento do álbum INXS em 1980. O sucesso só viria em 1983 com o lançamento do compacto "Original Sin" e o grupo, que tocava mais o estilo New Wave mudou para um Rock mais puro durante o restante dos anos 80.
O auge da popularidade mundial do INXS veio com Kick, de 1987. Durante os anos 80 o INXS lançou sucessos atrás de sucessos como: New Sensation, Suicide Blonde, Disappear, Need You...

A Kartelt 1995-ben a Sex Action egykori dobosa, Ganxsta Döglégy Zolee (Zana Zoltán) alapította.
Először még nem akarta otthagyni rockegyüttesét, ám párhuzamosan mellette mindenképpen szeretett volna egy rapbandát létrehozni
Így került mellé a Sex Action technikusa, Bándy István, azaz Ganksta Steve. Természetesen egy igazi rapbandából nem hiányozhat egy profi lemezlovas sem, aki a szkreccseket szolgáltatja.
Zolee jó barátja volt az E-Klub residens DJ-je, Sámson Gábor, aki az együttesbe lépve vette fel az O.J. Sámson művésznevet. Így hárman alkották a Kartel kezdő felállását.
Kicsit később csatlakozott hozzájuk az angyalföldi Tóth Lóránd, azaz Lory B és Zolee jégkorongozó társa a Kannibals oszlopos...
