The Soulmen was a Slovak rock band formed in Bratislava (then part of Czechoslovakia), singing in English, that existed from 1967 to 1968. They were formed by Dežo Ursiny (at the time 20 years old) a year after he had left The Beatmen. The Soulmen were one of the most important slovak bigbit bands. Cream is often cited as the main influence on The Soulmen's music. The band was a power trio consisting of guitarist Dežo Ursíny, bassist Fedor Frešo and drummer Vladimir Mallý (an early lineup had Dušan Hájek on drums), all of them contributing to vocals as well....

After having released three stunning full-length albums and a split-EP between the years 1995 – 1999, Ulme’s existence seemed to cease with a stroke of a fist, leaving their followers in a state of disbelief, anger and phantom limb pain, right after the release party for their third offering "Green growing soul… in the gala of love". James "Blood" Ulmer (born February 2, 1942 in St. Matthews, South Carolina) is an American avant-garde jazz and blues guitarist and singer. Ulmer's distinctive guitar sound has been described as "jagged" and "stinging." His singing has been called "raggedly soulful." Georges Ulmer was born with the given name, Jørgen Frederik Ulmer, on 16 February 1919 at Copenhagen, Denmark and died on 29 September 1989 at Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France. He was a composer, librettist, and actor of Danish origin, who became a naturalized French citizen. He is the father of the singer, Laura Ulmer.
