Tamra's History...

Tamra's love for music grew while watching her mother perform around Ireland with The Hilton Showband. She came to London aged 16 to pursue a career as a singer and a songwriter. A random meeting in a London taxi with trance producer Blue Peter led to her first release Biological Reaction.

After meeting Breakbeat luminary Kevin Beber in a nightclub they went on to record the much acclaimed 'Travelling On,' which became single of the week on BBC Radio 1 & in NME. The track was a huge success for the duo, reaching No. 1 in The Beats chart and remaining in the Top 10 for several months. More success followed followed with single ‘You Wonder,’ with the track being crowned Single of the Week in Mixmag, DJ, M8 and Ministry. The duo’s debut album ‘Suite Beat Boy’ followed, receiving major press and club recognition. Sell-out gigs included Fabric Live and The Boutique as well as her first Glastonbury performance. The duo also collaborated with the legendary dance producer and film composer BT a.k.a. Brian Transua, on the track ‘Love in a time of Thieves.’ BT has produced and written for the likes of N Sync, Britney Spears, Sting, Tori Amos and Tiesto. As a film composer he has worked on films such as The Fast and the Furious' and 'Monster.'

In 2003 Tamra joined electro band Future Funk Squad, writing Radio 1 featured singles ‘Demystified’ and ‘Kissing Air’ on their album ‘Audio Damage.’ During their time together, Tamra and the FFS played to crowds of up to 30,000 fans in London, Romania, Budapest, Berlin, Spain, and Shaghai!

2004 saw Tamra jetting across the pond to New York to work with Grammy-winning house music DJ and producer David Morales on his second artist album. ‘Two Worlds Collide’ was born and became the title track for Morales’ album. Tamra also recorded the track ‘You Came’ with David, and the massive US smash hit ‘Here I Am,’ which reached No.1 on the Dance Billboard Chart. After a remix from house supremo DJ Kaskade, it went on to feature in the blockbuster movie ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and more recently ‘The Beautiful Life’ on CBS.

2005 saw Tamra taking a break to work on some solo material away from the dance music scene, touring with her band and headlining the main stage of ‘The Beautiful Days’ festival in the UK alongside The Stranglers and Alabama 3. Tamra is one of the few artists who can boast of performing at Glastonbury five years in a row!

In 2007 Tamra teamed up with America’s No. 1 DJ Kaskade in San Francisco to work on his album ‘Strobelite Seduction’, writing Beatport’s No.1 house track ‘Angel On My Shoulder’ and ‘Your Love is Black’. ‘Angel On My shoulder’ was a massive hit in club land and mainstream radio. Tamra also spent the summer of 2008 in LA working with Nick Terranova AKA ‘Starkillers,’ writing and recording material for his debut solo album ‘What You Need,’ including tracks ‘Heartbleed’ and ‘Underground.’

Tamra has support from music biz veteran Derek Green, who during his career commissioned albums from artistes as original and diverse as Joan Armatrading, The Art Of Noise, Joe Jackson, The Levellers, Morcheeba, Police, Squeeze, and Supertramp.
