Formed in Madrid in 1999, The Winnerys are like many other Rainbow Quartz bands influenced by the melodic 60's sounds of the Kinks, Beatles, Stones and the Hollies. However, the principle writers of The Winnerys (F. Martin &. J. Polo) write their material with a sound that is clearly their own. The Winnerys have created sound that is distinctly modern while still tipping their hats to the founding fathers of melodic guitar based rock and even sound at times like The Yachts from the 80's and The Dentists from the 90's.

With each member displaying a high degree of musicianship, The Winnerys have cast a spell on many an audience with the alternating jangle and growl of Fausto Martin's and Borja Bonafuente's guitars, the rock steady grooves of Javier Polo's bass and Juanjo Martin's drums and, of course, their irresistible three-part vocal harmonies that are sure to drill new holes in one's auditory canal. Lyrically, Polo and Martin exhibit an emotional range; from the lovelorn "Messages Inside" to the poignant "That Magical Wonder"; the encouraging "It Must Be..." to the downright mysterious ''In My Garden"; tales all told in the delicious mixture of catchy power pop, beat and psychedelia.

After four years of cutting their teeth in the clubs of Madrid, The Winnerys have amassed considerable acclaim. Praise for the band and their 2002 self-titled, self-released demo CD has appeared in the Madrid music press, television and indie radio programmes. On the Internet, Spanish sites such as popmadrid.com; sonicwavemagazine.com; ipunkrock.com; as well as the Swedish torpedopop.com; the Yugoslavian popism.com and the British shindig-magazine.com have also delivered favourable reviews. In the summer of 2002, they played at the Magic Festival in Catalonia and headlined the Felipop Festival in Galicia, delighting the thousands in attendance.

In August, they participated, once again, in Felipop 2003. In October, they went on tour with the British band Farrah on the Autumn Almanac Tour and then flew to Liverpool to join the Fest that is the I.P.O (International Pop Overthrow 2003), playing in the mythic Cavern Club.

And now anything can happen... .
