Adultnapper is a shadowy figure drawn from the dark reaches of Francis Harris’ imagination. Harris, a philosphy phD drop-out with punk rocker roots, hails from suburban Las Vegas but has called Brooklyn home for the past 9 years — a stretch in which he has gone from “hating dance music”, to establishing himself as an underground DJ/Producer with a unique sound and a global audience. Rubber Rodeo was a Boston-based band active in the 1980s. Uniquely for the era, the band fused Roxy Music-influenced new wave music with country and western influences, and dressed in 1950's-vintage country & western clothing. They are best remembered for their heavily rotated 1984 MTV hit "The Hardest Thing" and the US chart hit "Anywhere With You". The artist hid her name under the anagram THE RODEO, a word evoking the South of the USA, a style of music which inspired the singer and a hommage to the pioneers of folk, blues and country music. When she was a child, she discovered a treasure in her uncle's attic. Hidden among dusty vinyls and books was a slumbering guitar dating from the mythical 1970's.
