Grupo Niche is one of the world's best known salsa and cumbia groups from Colombia and it enjoys great popularity throughout Latin America. It was formed in 1980 by Jairo Varela, who became producer, director, songwriter, vocalist and guiro player. It also included Nicolas Cristanelo, on the piano; Alexis Lozano, on the trombone; Francisco Garcia, on the bass; Luis Pacheco, on the congas; as well as vocalists Jorge Bassam and Hector Viveros.
Grupo Niche's first album: "Al Pasito" was released that same year, 1980, and placed their native Colombia in a modest position in the salsa world. "Querer Es Poder"...

Die Funkhausgruppe ist ein Musik-Projekt das derzeit aus den Bands Die Perlen, Hertzinfarkt, Sonnenbrandt und Welle: Erdball besteht.
Der Grundstein der Funkhausgruppe wurde 2007 auf dem „Hörerclubtreffen“, dem offiziellen Fanclubtreffen von Welle: Erdball, gelegt, auf dem alle vier Bands anwesend waren. Mit dem Lied Allein im Funkhaus erschien 2009 auf einer EP der Gruppe Die Perlen ein erstes Lied dieser Kooperation. Das erste Album, Mono-Poly, wurde am 24. Juni 2011 über das SPV-Label Synthetic Symphony veröffentlicht. Eine Platzierung in den Deutschen Alternative Charts auf Platz 14 schloss sich an.
