Сэмюэл Барбер (англ. Samuel Barber; 9 марта 1910, Уэст-Честер, Пенсильвания — 23 января 1981, Нью-Йорк) — американский композитор. Родился 9 марта 1910 в Уэст-Честере (шт. Пенсильвания). Начал учиться музыке в возрасте шести лет и уже на первом году обучения обнаружил признаки композиторского дарования. В возрасте 14 лет был прослушан руководителем Консерватории Пибоди Харолдом Рэндолфом, порекомендовавшим Барберу профессиональную музыкальную карьеру, и в том же году поступил учиться в институт Кёртиса (Филадельфия), где в течение девяти лет занимался игрой на фортепиано, пением и композицией, а также брал уроки дирижирования у Ф. Samuel Sim is a film and television composer. He first gained recognition with his award winning score for the BBC drama series "Dunkirk". Since then he has written the music for a wide variety of film and television productions, most recently scoring the film "Awake" for The Weinstein Company and the BBC/HBO drama series "House of Saddam". The Farewell Bend was a great, however short lived, trio that released one album during their time together in 1998’s In Passing along with a seven inch single, and a split seven inch with Shiner. That’s all I know about at least. Anyway, making up the band were former Boy’s Life members Brandon Butler and John Rejba along with Giant’s Chair drummer Paul Ackerman. The Farewell Bend sort of sounded like what you’d expect a band made up of such members to sound like, it’s very Kansas City/Midwestern sounding however shares a bit of its sound with the DC 90’s...
