There is more than one band associated with the name Violent Green: 1) Violent Green was a Seattle-based band fronted by ex-Some Velvet Sidewalk member Jennifer Olay that existed from 1993 to 1999. The band released three full length albums on Up Records: Eros in 1995, Cycles of Heat in 1996, and Hangovers in 1998. 2) Violent Green started to brew in the early months of 2007 before fermenting a solid line-up in August 2007 combining the members varied influences into an abrasive mix of speed and sludge with a new wave death metal feel. Formed in January '82, in Hebden Bridge just outside Halifax, guitarist Andrew 'Grif' Griffiths and vocalist Adrian 'Adie' Bailey had previously been in Delinquent, whilst bassist Duf and drummer Jas were with Dreaded Cult. The first Ultra Violent demo was a very basic affair recorded in Halifax during April '82. It failed to generate any interest from labels. However the band played many shows around West Yorkshire that summer and developed into a frighteningly powerful and focused act, an impressive evolution that was showcased to perfection with the storming recording Ultra Violent made at Rochdale's Cargo Studios during November 1982....

We began with the band at the beginning of the 1999, when Daniel (Brazilian) met carolina (Colombian) in Venezuela where she was playing in a local Anarko-punk band, they together came to live in Argentina and decided to start Migra Violenta, a fast sound with compromise lyrics in a DIY way... it was pretty hard because also on those days here it was no bands with that line and also not many people to start to make other new things, then we knew Juan (argentino) he was running a label and a zine, so we got all together with Patricio...

Amidst the slowly but inevitably decaying punk scene in Oklahoma City, Violent Affair has remained a beacon of hope for a dying breed of music. With apathy and egos creeping in and plaguing the music community it serves as just more inspiration to maintain the constant persistence to create a new breed of punk for those that are desperately crying out for it. At a time when your scene and community seem at its utmost worst it can only go up! The name Violent Affair is a reference from a Self Destruct song, a particularly strong influence on the band...
