Classic British exponents of jazz include Ronnie Scott, Tubby Hayes, Victor Feldman and Humphrey Lyttelton. British fusion guitarist John McLaughlin and bassist Dave Holland both joined Miles Davis's group.
Since the 1980s there has been a new generation of Black British musicians entering jazz with Courtney Pine, Gary Crosby, Julian Joseph, and later Soweto Kinch and Jason Yarde being noteworthy examples.
