Industrial music in Norway arguably began with Munch in 1986, but never crystalized into a unique genre. Most of the later projects were primarily influenced by EBM, with such acts as Atropine, Anax Imperator and Anstalt being the most well known. After the turn of the millenium the genre has been largely dormant, with only a few lesser known projects carrying the torch. .
