Her father, the late Luis Russell, was born in Panama and moved to New Orleans and then New York City, becoming a pioneering pianist/bandleader, and Louis Armstrong’s long-time musical director. Her mother, Carline Ray, is an outstanding bassist and vocalist and holder of advanced degrees from Juilliard and Manhattan School of Music, who has performed with Mary Lou Williams and Wynton Marsalis. Catherines Cathedral was a Gothic Rock band in Sweden in the mid 1990's. According to their entry in the discogs database they had released three albums; Flowerdust (1993), Intoxication (1994), and Equilibrium (1995) (the last two being signed under the Noxious Records label). According to the Gothic music blog called Hidden Pleasures the band had the following lineup: Guitar: D. Petersson Guitar, Vocals: M. Valley Keyboards: S. Morgana Bass: D. Hansevi Drums: Colonel Phobia .
Catherine has been immersed in music since the age of 4. She completed a B.A. in classic piano. Afterwards, she won the Petite-Vallée contest as best singer songwriter in 2002, which led her to write her first album "Par-dessus bord" in 2004. The album won several awards such as the prestigious "Coup de coeur" of the Académie Charles-Cros in France and the award of european concert venues (Rideau) in 2005. Her second album, directed by the talented Alex McMahon, was released in January 2008. An album critically acclaimed and surely a french music album that cannot be ignored. .
