Jonathan Saul Kane is an English DJ, musician - releasing material since 1989 as Depth Charge and The Octagon Man, amongst others. He is also the owner of the record labels DC Recordings and Electron Industries. He is well known for his pioneering use of samples, particularly from cult films in the martial arts, spaghetti western, and pornographic genres. Jonathan Saul Kane is often credited for inventing "trip-hop" and "big beat"; he used kung-fu film samples before Wu-Tang Clan. His other aliases are Octagon Man, Alexanders Dark Band, T.E.T and Grimm Death. .

This New York band formed in 2003, leading to the recording of Warm Love and Cool Dreams Forever. Full of sloppy and casually exuberant post-punk grooves, comparable to The Black Lips but not so psychedelic or contrived, Warm Love and Cool Dreams Forever is packed with sixteen solid tracks, all but three sub-three minutes and a good half-dozen would be appropriate to place on a mixtape for a hip and coy romantic interest. All of the songs are imbued with a garage-style sense of limitlessness. .
Dr. Octagon is one of Kool Keith's many alter egos. His initial release as Dr. Octagon was 1996's Dr. Octagonecologyst, on which he collaborated with Dan The Automator Nakamura and DJ QBert. After the name was dropped in favour of Dr. Dooom, it was widely believed that it wouldn't be used again until the release of 2006's The Return of Dr. Octagon, which Keith maintains was changed and released without his consent.
