Chet Faker (born Nicholas James Murphy; 23 June 1988) is an electronica musician hailing from Melbourne, Australia. Nick Murphy settled on the stage name Chet Faker as an homage to Chet Baker. Other influences he has cited include Bob Dylan, as well as his mother's Motown albums and his father's "chilled out Ibiza CDs". He first rose to prominence after his cover of Blackstreet's "No Diggity" went viral online, reaching #1 on the Hypemachine chart in May 2011. He released his first EP Thinking In Textures in 2012 to positive reviews, being described as "wonderfully loungey" and praised for its...
Type O Negative was a gothic / doom metal band formed in Brooklyn, New York, US in 1990. They are well known for their dry, morbid and ironic sense of humor and their often slow and brooding music. "The Drab Four" (the nickname Type O Negative gave themselves) always succeeded in keeping their own unique style, mixing melodic, classic rock 'n' roll with slow, doom-like vibes, and down-tuned heavy metal guitar riffs with dark soundscapes. They were also known for doom metal riffs, deep bass lines, heavy but usually slow drums and bass-range vocals of gothic metal. Lead singer Peter...
Fakear is Théo Le Vigoreux - an uncannily suitable name for a young producer whose energy is seemingly limitless. At 24 years old, Fakear has already taken his globally-tuned dance music across the world, playing shows from London to Tokyo, supporting Bonobo and selling out Paris’ prestigious Olympia in 2015. The journey that’s led to 2016 and his debut album, Animal, has been three years and 4 EPs long. One of them reached the top 10 in France, and his music has drawn the attention of M.I.A., AlunaGeorge, DJ Snake, Annie Mac, The FADER and ODESZA - one of many...
