There are three groups with the name Ideal: 1) Ideal was a German Pop band from Berlin, active from 1980 to 1983. Ideal were part of the "Neue Deutsche Welle" movement. The band consisted of Annette Humpe, Ernst Ulrich Deuker, Frank Jürgen Krüger and Hans-Joachim Behrendt. Well known songs are 'Blaue Augen' (a cover of Annette's former band Neonbabies), 'Berlin', 'Eiszeit' and 'Monotonie'. During their three years together, the band released three studio albums. The makings of the Ideal Free Distribution came together in 1997 when Eric Griffy, Tony Miller, and Craig Morris decided to make some recordings in Eric's bedroom of some of the primitive ramblings trapped in their heads. Often crude and amateurish, the songs nonetheless had a unique sound and vision that encouraged the three to keep it up. The "Cleaners from Venus" started as a home-produced D.I.Y.-ethic combo in 1980 in Wivenhoe, England, United Kingdom featuring the songs of Martin Newell and the drumming of his friend Lawrence Elliot. Lol later left, and a number of people passed through the ranks, including Giles Smith, who subsequently wrote about his time in the Cleaners in his book "Lost In Music".
