The Antennas are a power pop band from Nashville, Tennessee. Comprised of brothers Layne and Landon Ihde fronting a classic power trio completed by drummer/producer Mark Niemiec. Their sound is influenced by a mix of of classic rock & powerpop from the big names - The Who, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin - to the alternative pop classics like Matthew Sweet, Superdrag and Sloan. antennasia first hit the Tokyo club scene in 1999. Founded by programmer nerve together with vocalist san, they gradually get recognized in the down-tempo community. After fabricating 2 albums in their own back kitchen, the proper antennasian sound takes form and soon their works get marked no.1 in Japans internet charts, steadily spreading overseas in forums and webzines. Antennas was started as Novak in 2004 and released one album under that name. After the departure of two of the original members and a slight shift in musical style they decided to change their name to Antennas. Still having their ability to make magnificent pop melodies they now also have a more mature and modern sound. For a half year they practically locked themselves in the Exsitensminimum studio together with their producer, Magnus Henriksson, and recorded what will be their "debut" album "Sins".
