Instrumental black metal / depressive rock band formed in 2004 by SelfM (Défaillance, Ethere et cetera). After releasing a total of four demo recordings and a split with Aurvandil the project was put to rest. Brooklyn based Holy Spirits first formed as friends in Ft. Benning, Georgia. Tin Spirits first got together in Swindon UK in the summer of 2008, when Daniel Steinhardt from TheGigRig invited former XTC guitarist (and musical hero) Dave Gregory to a local studio to video record an 'amp shoot-out' with Dan's band The Hi-Fidels, comprising bassist Mark Kilminster and drummer Doug Mussard. All enjoyed the experience so much they decided to take things a stage further and rehearse some of the more challenging music they'd grown up listening to but never had the chance to perform. There are at least two bands by the name High Spirits: 1) High Spirits is an American, NWOBHM-influenced Heavy Metal band fronted by Chris Black of Dawnbringer, Superchrist, Pharaoh etc. fame. 2) The High Spirits were a top-notch rock & roll combo, enormously popular on the teen-club circuit, playing primarily surf music to a music obsessed Minnesota audience. The band was recently inducted into the Midwest Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. .
