Ludwig van Beethoven (16 December 1770 – 26 March 1827) was a German pianist and composer of the transitional period between the late Classical and early Romantic eras. He remains one of the most brilliant, prolific and influential composers of all time. Beethoven is widely regarded as a master of musical construction, sometimes sketching the architecture of a movement before he had decided upon the subject matter. He was one of the first composers to systematically and consistently use interlocking thematic devices, or 'germ-motives', to achieve unity between movements in long compositions. (Some insight into the meaning of the germ-motive...
Ludwig Minkus aka Léon Fyodorovich Minkus (March 23, 1826 — December 7, 1917), was a composer of ballet music and a violin virtuoso. Born Aloisius Ludwig Minkus in Velké Meziříčí (German: Grossmeseritsch), near Brno, Moravia, Austrian Empire, {today the Czech Republic}. He is most noted for the ballets he composed while serving as the First ballet composer to the St. Petersburg Imperial Theatres, a post which he occupied from 1871 until its abolition in 1886. He continued composing music regularly for the Imperial Theatres until 1891, when he retired to Vienna. Minkus wrote nearly all of his music for the...
Madking Ludwig's sound comes straight out of their own Bermuda Triangle, emanating from somewhere between desert rock, metal and prog rock. Originating from Montreal, they have been creating their style of music since 1997, blending vocal harmonies and woodwind instruments with the crushing mix of fuzzed-out heavy rock. The band, consisting of Stéphane Bellemare (Lumberjack), Leïla Jolin-Dahel (replacing Sophie Bourassa as of "Seven Stairways"), Raphaël Corbeil (Karmadoza), Patrick Falardeau and Stéphane Vigeant (Groovy Aardvark, Floating Widget, Karmadoza), has been averaging about two shows a year, turning each live performance almost into an event! .
He is a genius, make no mistake. An encyclopedia of music in and of himself. At the time of this writing it is unknown whether or not other extensive volumes of information can be found within the confines of his mind aside from that of the musical note. Many a moth (surely) have consulted with him in discussion of that which moves us all--music! .
Ludwig von 88 is a French punk rock group, that was very active on the alternative rock scene during the 80's and 90's. Their music is full of humour despite touching very sensitive topics like most of the wars that happened in the late 80s and 90s, drugs, corrupt French politicians, road accidents... They managed to make a generation of young French laugh about every sad thing that was going on around them. The Group started sometime during 1983, their first album "Houlala" was released in 1986. They haven't released anything since 1999 but the group haven't officially split. .
