3DVOZ formed in September 1998, on the Spanish Island of Gran Canaria. The group was originally composed of Foncho and Jon de Jon, but Jay joined a few months later. They had listened to R&B, Hip-Hop and Reggaeton music since they were young. Through Foncho's father, Alfonso Serrano, 3DVOZ met Felipe Sánchez and José Luis Mauri (from Imagina Productores), Christophe, who signed them to EMI, and Javier Liñan (EMI/Virgin), who launched the group's career in Spain.
