Three's and Nines was put together by front man Jake Brebs. Jake originally joined the local music scene doing solo acts. With his early sound often being compared to the likes of Bright Eyes he decided form a whole new sound and with it he would need a full band. The core of 3's & 9's has always been Jake and his loyal drummer Max Triplet. However they have had their fair share of bassists, including Gabe Munoz(currently bassist for Blesk.) Their songs rang from silly stories of a carnival freak falling in love to some interesting views on life....

The Nines is an indie Toronto/Oakville-based power pop band comprised of Steve Eggers, Paul McCulloch and Warren Cliff. Music critic Bud Scoppa of Rolling Stone has written, "Picking up where the Beatles left off is a big challenge, but it can be done, as XTC, Jellyfish and Spoon have proved. The Nines belong in that rarefied company." The band released its first LP, 'Wonderworld of Colourful', in 1998. It was followed later that year by a four-song EP.
