Easycore | en

Easycore is a term given to bands who blend pop punk with some form of hardcore punk or metal (The most typical fusion is pop-punk and modern metalcore/post-hardcore). The genre received the name "easycore" from the band New Found Glory, with one of their tours which was called called the "Easycore tour". They are arguably the genre's founder. Easycore simply put is pop punk which combines metalcore traits like breakdowns and screaming, and in some cases used melodic hardcore's speed and guitar work.

Some easycore bands are primarily metalcore, but include pop punk attributes, such as A Day to Remember, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! and We Are Defiance; while other bands, like Four Year Strong, Set Your Goals and Me vs Hero steer closer to melodic hardcore and pop punk elements. Four Letter Lie showed easycore characteristics in their earlier material. All in all, the extent of the metalcore influence varies from band to band. .
