Progressive thrash metal (or technical thrash metal) is a subgenre of heavy metal. Bands playing this type of thrash incorporate complex song structures, many rhythm and tempo changes. Bands that play or have played this type of thrash include Coroner, early Annihilator and Deathrow. Technical thrash metal can also refer to more brutal, death metal influenced thrash metal (for that see brutal thrash metal). .
