Brimming deeply with talent pouring forth out of the nationally-renowned University of North Texas School of Music, along with local independent artists and those from other cities that have moved there, this small town in northern Texas produces some of the most technically skilled, authentic, and vibrant musicians anywhere in the country. Despite it's small size as a city, Denton boasts a thriving, supportive, dynamic community of musicians that rivals those found in Austin or Seattle in both quality and quantity. Many acts currently on national tour came from here, including but not limited to : Sarah Jaffe, Centro-Matic, The Old 97's, Brave Combo, Robert Gomez, and Nora Jones. With it's hundreds-strong crowd of show-attending students and Dentonites, any visiting band or artist can feel assured at getting a warm welcome, and high ticket-earnings, in Denton. .
