Ethno ambient is a type of music that draws heavily from acoustic ethnic music, both in musical structure and instrumentation, and combines those influences with ambient music related to texture, technological manipulations, and field recordings. Ethno ambient is related in spirit to techno tribal, ethno techno, and especially to "Fourth World" music and "ambient" music, launched in the late 1970s by Jon Hassell and Brian Eno, respectively.
