Tracks recorded in session for the venerable John Peel Show. Running from 1967 until his death in 2004, over 2,000 artists recorded over 4,000 sessions for the BBC Radio 1 show.
A large number of session tracks have been released - either as Peel Session EPs and albums (on Strange Fruit) or as bonus tracks on singles.
On certain occassions, Peel Session tracks have been used as single A-sides. Case in point being the 1987 The Smiths single "Sweet and Tender Hooligan".
