There are two bands with the name ELEFANTE and one with the name Elephante that redirects here for some reason. One is from Uruguay and the other is from Mexico. John Elefante (born March 18, 1958 in Levittown, New York) is a Grammy Award-winning American rock and roll vocalist, who got his start in the music business with the rock band Kansas. Elefante was the replacement for the original Kansas vocalist, Steve Walsh, who left Kansas in 1981. He appeared on two Kansas albums, Vinyl Confessions (1981) and Drastic Measures (1983), and sang the vocals on the hit singles "Play the Game Tonight" and "Fight Fire With Fire." Founded in the beginning of 2002 in Porto Alegre (capital of Brazil's southernmost state), Pata de Elefante are an instrumental power-trio band heavily influenced by the likes of Dick Dale and The Ventures, stretching to Funkadelic and The Meters and reaching The Band, Jimi Hendrix and Cream.
