Charanga Cakewalk is the name given by Michael Ramos to his project started around 2002, combining Latin Jazz with other styles: Cha cha cha with a mellow jazz chillout vibe. In the past he has worked with Lila Downs on his album Loteria De La Cumbia Lounge .

Cakewalk was an alternative/indie band from Bodø, Norway. They put out the 3-song "Vådeskudd" 12" in 1986, the same year a "s/t" cassette came out aswell. In 1988 they put out a 3-song 7". One member continued in the reggae/rock outfit Irie Darlings. Cakewalk is also an experimental instrumental improvisation band with members from HighasaKite and Hedvig Mollestad Trio. .

Charanga Forever was formed in the summer of 1998 as a result of the famous breakup of Charanga Habanera. Music was already rooted in his family environment since he is Sergio Calzado`s son, the prominent singer who is well-known for his performance with the "Fajardo y sus Estrellas" group.
