You've just knocked back a couple pints. You find yourself in a crowd of sweaty people, smoke everywhere, and a growing sense of anticipation. You can't see what's in front of you and you don't really care. Your only memory is stumbling into the bar to grab a couple drinks. A throbbing tempo of a reborn sense of rock 'n' roll pounds thru the darkness. The music starts, lights come up, and you're moving. You've just been bitten and infected by the Rabid Dogs. The members of Rabid Dogs were pissed off with the state of rock 'n' roll, so in spring 2001 they formed a group in Seattle, Washington. The band's music can be described as raw punk 'n' roll from the street. The lyrics reflect bad relationships, personal conflicts, problems that anyone can relate to, and the darker side of life in general. They are heavily influenced by punk rock, traditional rock 'n' roll, and glam. The Rabid Dogs have been compared with Iggy and the Stooges, David Bowie, Ramones, The Dead Boys, The Heartbreakers, and Slaughter and the Dogs. Rabid Dogs aren't just five phony musicians who met in a classified section of a newspaper. They have grown together, played in earlier bands together, lived together, and even fought together. They have paid their dues. Members are Brian Rabid on vocals, Nick Stang on lead guitar, Nils Larson on bass, Herb on rhythm guitar, and Brandon on drums. This band has a bond that is only getting stronger with time. Rabid Dogs are known for their intense live shows. As one fan put it, "You guys sound like the Dead Boys on speed." That's a perfect example of the audience reaction to their unforgettable live sets. Rabid Dogs have played all around the Northwest including Canada. They have played with internationally known bands such as the Briefs, the Templars, Defiance, Endless Struggle and the Riffs. They have accrued a loyal following in Seattle, Portland, Ore, and Vancouver, B.C. The biggest goals of the Rabid Dogs are to build a strong loyal following and grow from there as well as reinstate some true, traditional rock 'n' roll into a music scene that has lost most of its integrity. One of the strongest beliefs of the Rabid Dogs is the idea of the grassroots and D.I.Y. ethic. They want to play all around the U.S., release as much material as possible, and take the world by storm. Releases include self released 5 song demo, 2 song promo featuring Red Crush Suicide / No Time for You, a full 10 track album on Pelado Records released in 2004, and their song Midnight City is on the sound track for the full length movie Streets of Blood. .
