Omala | tl

Omala (M. Tegner and A. Karperyd) was one of the early Swedish ambient/industrial acts and produced two albums - Germ (1988) and Relicon (1991) before disappearing. Later they resurfaced in He Said Omala project where they were working with John Fryer and Graham Lewis (latter is known for work in Dome and Wire). .
From early tape recorders Drongomala went on to lead Baby Bartok and played hundreds of gigs all over the UK before becoming involved in the Drum and Bass scene in Edinburgh during the 90's. Drongomala then helped form an Edinburgh based record label and put out a compilation record with three tracks under the name Drongo. In 2003/4 Drongo became Drongomala and set up his own label (Flying Mountain Records) and composed with top classical South Indian musicians in Kerala, India while living there for two years. Two records came out of this - Scale and 100 Fields along well...
He Said was the name used by Wire member Graham Lewis for his solo record releases in the 1980s. He Said Omala teams Graham Lewis with the Swedish ambient act Omala. The result is immersive, ambient pieces that centres around rich, intricate rhythms and Lewis' thoughtful and ambiguous texts. .
