In the tradition of underground pioneers Mudhoney and The Wipers, Memphis' Antique Curtains was formed by singer/guitarist Mike Bibbs and drummer Greg Faison. After a few early personnel changes, their lineup became complete with the additions of bassist Ryno Hanson (formerly of Straight to Hell) and guitar/keyboard chemist Tony Lucchesi. Antique Curtains' first full-length release "Unknowing and Driving" was recorded by Chuck Vicious of Oscars fame and released in June of 2005. They have since released the six-song "Renaissance EP" and are working on a second full-length album. .

The Curtains were founded in the Oakland / San Francisco Bay Area in the year 2000 by ex-Deerhoof bassist/guitarist Chris Cohen and Trevor Shimizu. Beginning as a strictly instrumental group, The Curtains now make smart but sparse lo-fi folk-pop with minimum of effort and maximum effectiveness. Influenced by film soundtracks, TV jingles, West Coast jazz and early electronic music, the Curtains gradually branched out to vocal- and more rock-based music over the years, a trend which culminated in 2006's Calamity, released by the Asthmatic Kitty label. Lace Curtains is the side-project of Michael Coomers, lead singer of the Austin band Harlem. The debut album, The Garden of Joy and the Well of Loneliness, was released in August 2012. http://lacecurtainsband.tumblr.com/ .

Defined by a unique blend of post-punk, cabaret, and goth rock, Out of Sync With Time collectively feels like something of a lucid dream. With no guitars, the record relies heavily on the juxtaposed contrast of chromatic treble on the keys countered by imposing synthesizers in the bass. Toss in a healthy dose of drum rolls, dirty percussion and emotional vocals and the resulting sound is a tantalizing, albeit disturbing, hybrid of The Birthday Party and The Cure.
