SUGAR BABE was a Japanese band formed in Tokyo, Japan in 1973 and splitted up in 1976. The original lineup consisted of 山下達郎(Tatsurō Yamashita), 大貫妙子(Taeko Ōnuki), 村松邦男(Kunio Muramatsu), 鰐川己久男(Kikuo Wanikawa) and 野口明彦(Akihiko Noguchi). .

MCs Babe-Face Kaos, Y-Tee, and Mister Man grew up in the West Indies (Y-Tee in Jamaica, Mister Man and Kaos in Trinidad), so reggae was a strong inspiration to their early years; hip-hop also figures in, however.
