Élodie Frégé won France's Star Academy in 2003 and released her debut album in 2004. Benjamin Biolay produced her sophomore effort, Le jeu des 7 erreurs, released in September 2006. Frégé is a self-proclaimed "melancholic folksinger with 60's influences". Biolay's production keeps the melancholy, but trades the folk for a more lush, orchestrated sound. .
Melodie Nelson is a moniker used by Australian singer-songwriter Lia Tsamoglou. Lia is also a member of Sydney bands Moonmilk and Rand and Holland .
Mélodie en sous-sol was founded in 2007 as a studio / fusion project. The electronic basics of ambient / downtempo are filled up with traditional european instruments and african percussions, played live, often freely improvised, by italian and moroccan artists. The albums are published as "trilogies" which are small collections of similar styles and normally produced within the same period.
