Zhang Fu-quan, a highly praised musician in mainland China,entered the Composition Department of Central Music Academy in 1960 and then transferred to the China Music Academy to continue his study. His famous works include "Su San", "Fan Xu-dong" and "The Wedding Ceremony" and so on. Bass player with Tom Fahy, Zhang Li (b. 1 September 1976), builds upon Fahy's work with genetic algorithms to develop compositional sound synthesis algorithms that interpret L-Systems. Li, a first-generation Chinese-American, is the daughter of inventor Sammo Li. Upon graduation from the University of Hawai'i in 1999 where she was studying archaeology, she began her collaboration with Fahy, writing parts for bass, electric xindi, oboe, flute, zither and upright bass. Like Dan and Eisley, Li is a self-trained musician. .
