Joseph-Maurice Ravel (7 Mart 1875, Fransa – 28 Aralık 1937, Fransa) Fransız besteci ve piyanist. 20. yüzyılın önemli bestecilerindendir. Özellikle orkestrasyon konusunda çok başarılı olan Ravel’in en tanınmış eseri Bolero'dur. Bolero kadar ünlü bir diğer çalışması, 1922’de Rus besteci Modest Musorgski’nin eseri Bir Sergiden Resimler adlı piyano eserinin orkestrasyonudur. Ravel, Fransa’nın Bask bölgesinde, İspanya sınırında bir küçük köy olan Ciboure’da dünyaya geldi, Paris’te büyüdü. Annesi Bask, babası ise İsviçreli bir sanayiciydi. Müzik yeteneğini ve detaylara düşkünlüğünü babasından aldı. Detaycılığı nedeniyle besteci Stravinsky onu müziğin İsviçre saati yapımcısı diye nitelemiştir. Born June 12th 1979, Amandine competed against Benjamin Siksou in the season finale that took place June 11th 2008. She ended up at the top spot. A nice birthday gift from her fans.
