Frida Gold primarily performs music in the dance-pop genre with most of the tracks / lyrics being in German. The band yFriday started out in 1994 leading a local worship event called whyfriday? in Newcastle with the Youth For Christ (YFC) movement. At this event many young people attended and eventually they had to move out of their original premises and move to the Newcastle City Hall.
