Schrockstar is heavily influenced by hip-hop and R&B, especially songs from the mid-to-late 90s. Some of the early albums by R Kelly, Michael Jackson and Too $hort set the path toward an infatuation with urban contemporary music. First came 2Pac, Snoop, Dr. Dre, DMX, Nas, Jay-Z and Master P as major players that shone a bright light on the rap game. Next were Lil Wayne, Eminem, Kayne West, and Ludacris cementing that love with their infectious lyrics and harmonized beats. But nobody compares to the beat kings, however: the Neptunes. Pharrell allowed Schrockstar to enjoy the different side of music, sometimes blending R&B, Rap and Rock together.
