The Swirling Eddies are a band that began as an anonymous spinoff from the band Daniel Amos, along with new drummer David Raven. For each Swirling Eddies release, band members adopted pseudonyms for the liner notes; "Camarillo Eddy" (Terry Scott Taylor), "Berger Roy Al" (Tim Chandler), "Gene Pool" (Greg Flesch), "Arthur Fhardy" (Rob Watson), "Spot" (Jerry Chamberlain), "Hort Elvison" (David Raven) and, on later albums, "Prickly Disco" (Gene Eugene). Since their inception in the early nineties Swirl built a reputation for ethereal, melodic pop. The band released a string of early EPs on the Half A Cow label which culminated with the 1994 release of 'The Last Unicorn' album on Mercury/Half A Cow. This was followed with widespread touring including two tours of the States with releases on the New York based Dirt Records. Nudeswirl was a grunge band based in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Nudeswirl was formed in 1988 by Shane M. Green, Chris Wargo, and original drummer Mike Toro in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Toto was later replaced by Woody Newland. They released an independent full length LP in 1989. In 1992, they signed to Megaforce Records and released their self-titled CD in 1993.
