Lapus Dei is a Doom Death Metal band from Chile formed in 2005. Using a violin, flute, clean/grunted male and female vocals the band creates a very melancholic atmosphere. They use lyrics in both English and Spanish. .
En 1996, los integrantes del cuarteto se internan en los estudios del sello Discolandia para registrar su primer disco, titulado Umar Mash. El material fue grabado por invitación del productor Juan Carlos Gutiérrez. Un primer corte, Mi love, fue registrado en video por el director Alejandro Villavicencio, quien eligió los parajes de Santa Cruz para brindarle un aire más cálido a la filmación.
