Producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jon Brion grew up in a musical family: his father was director of the Yale concert and marching bands, his mother sang in jazz bands, and his siblings, Randy (a conductor/arranger in L.A.) and Laurie (a violinist), were both avid music students. Young Jon didn't deal with instruction or practice well, but his natural affinity for improvisation and melody more than made up for his impatience. VIBRION started back in ´89 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and two years later, their first demo ¨Erradicated Life¨ was recorded containing 5 tracks of some mixture between Grind, Hardcore and Death Metal. It was professionally recorded on a 24 track studio and was very well received in their own country selling over 1100 copies in a short time. This helped the band to catch the attention from several labels form abroad and it was a Swiss label called WITCHHUNT RECORDS which offered them to press their demo on a 7¨EP. Brion Gysin (January 19, 1916 - July 13, 1986) was a writer and painter. He is best known for his rediscovery of Tristan Tzara's cut-up technique while cutting through a newspaper upon which he was trimming some mats. He did many experiments with cut-ups while living in Tangiers (where incidentally, he established with the Moroccan painter Mohamed Hamri a cafe called the 1001 Nights in order to employ members of the Master Musicians of Joujouka so that he could hear them as frequently as possible).
