The Chazz Cats were among the earliest of the San Francisco Bay Area swing revivalists. The Chazz Cats played a unique brand of Jumpin Jazz & Roadhouse Swing throughout Northern California. Led by the sultry vocals of Delilah Monroe, the Chazz Cats perform swing, jump and blues tunes from the 20's, 30's and 40's. Their debut release, "Roadhouse Swing," has been distibuted around the world and is regularly played by Djs on stations and in clubs wherever the beat of swing is heard. The most famous and successful members were Pyruz and David (1992- 1999). Kamran and Hooman (1999-2004) were also very successful. Once the two brothers split with the Black Cats, they went on their own together and have become very successful. They have released two albums, the second one of which has only a couple of new songs with the rest of the album being remixes of songs from their first album. Were originally formed by Apostolis & Valisia in November of 2008. Their sound and lineup has been through several experimentations and changes until March of 2010. Their music is influenced by post-punk and new wave bands, enriched with shoe gaze elements and experimental electronics. Vasilis (guitar) joined the band in June of 2009, Menis (analog synths, drum machines, eletronics) and Andreas (bass) followed in March of 2010. .
The Syndicats were Steve Howe's first band. Their three singles on Columbia (EMI) were produced by Joe Meek. When lead guitarist Howe left for Tomorrow in 1965, he was replaced by Ray Fenwick. Fenwick plays lead-guitar on "Crawdaddy Simone". He co-wrote it with Jeff Williams, the bands' keyboardist. That song has recently been covered by The Horrors.
