Es gibt mindestens vier Projekte mit dem Namen Chimera: 1. ein englisches Frauenduo, das 1969/70 mit wechselnden Musikern (u.a. Bob Weston von Fleetwood Mac sowie Nick Mason und Rick Wright von Pink Floyd) verschiedene Titel aufnahm, aber zu aktiven Zeiten keine Veröffentlichungen hatte. Erst Ende der 90er Jahre erschien eine LP mit alten Demos und Fragmenten. 2. Eine um 1980 herum in Holland aktive Folkgruppe, die zwei Alben “Des Duivels Oorkussen” und “Obstakels” aufnahm. 3. Eine 1990 gegründete Alternativeband aus Belfast. 4. Ein Noise-Rock Projekt aus St. Petersburg .

Christian Rentschler began his music career in 1995 at the age of 14, when he founded his first performance group "Spirit of Dance“. The group consisted of five members. Sabina Colonna Preti founded in 2001 the violin group La Chimera which, since first meeting with Eduardo Egüez and Quito Gato, immediately took a new form.
