Master drummer Adama Dramé, born in 1954 in Burkina Faso, is a 6th-generation djeli from the Malinké region of West Africa. Once Dramé decided to follow his father in the griot tradition, they practiced together extensively, and he became a full-fledged member of his father's group at the age of 12. Der Autor, Komponist, Sänger und Arrangeur Adama Yalomba (sein eigentlicher Name ist Adama Traoré) wurde Mitte der Siebziger Jahre in Kémacina im afrikanischen Staat Mali geboren. Sei Vater war Bauer und ein anerkannter Interpret traditioneller Musik seiner Gegend. Unter der Schulung seines Vaters entwickelte sich Adama zu einem Viruosen auf traditionellen Saiteninstrumenten wie n'dan und n'goni und der Gitarre. Auf Grund seines Könnens war es ihm möglich bei zwei angesehenen regionalen Musikgruppen Malis Mitglied zu werden. Seit 1992 lebt und arbeitet Adama in Bamako, der - auch musikalischen - Hauptstadt des Mali. .

Dadamah were a band from New Zealand, active during the early 1990s. The band consisted of Kim Pieters, Peter Stapleton, Roy Montgomery, and Janine Stagg. Montgomery and Stapleton had played previously played together in The Pin Group, who disbanded back in 1982. After the band broke up, the members went on to numerous other music projects, including Flies Inside The Sun, Doramaar, Dissolve, and Rain. .
