Delain ist eine niederländische Symphonic-Metal-Band. Bandgeschichte Delain wurde 2002 von Martijn Westerholt, dem Ex-Keyboarder der Metal-Band Within Temptation gegründet, nachdem er diese 2001 aufgrund einer Erkrankung am Pfeiffer-Drüsenfieber verließ. Deren Gründer Robert Westerholt ist Martijns Bruder. Apparently the first release was compiled by the label from over 8 hours of demo material sent in by Audela. The second release of Audela's on Plague is a 52 minute monster entitled "39 mysterions" which is also from the original demo pile. As noted at the label site these works finish a first cycle of music inspired by Jupiter's Great Red Spot. .
