Bonfire ist eine deutsche Hardrock-Band, welche in Ingolstadt unter dem Namen Cacumen gegründet wurde und 1986 in den heutigen Namen Bonfire umbenannt wurde. Cacumen wurde 1972 gegründet. 1978 schließt sich Claus Lessmann der Band an. 1981 wird in der weiteren Besetzung mit Hans Ziller, Horst Meier-Thorn, Hans Hauptmann und Hans Forstner das erste Album mit dem Titel Cacumen veröffentlicht. 1986 wird Cacumen in Bonfire umbenannt und wechselt zur Plattenfirma BMG/RCA. 　初期のBEATLESやROLLING　STONESのようなシックなスーツに身を包んで、'95年5月に突然出現した"FIELD OF VIEW"。その外見から連想されるダークさと、耳に届いた楽曲の爽快さに、どんな想いが交差しただろうか。キリっとしたスーツ姿の中でネクタイだけがネジれたところに、どこかを見据えたような目の鋭さにロックスピリットを感じながらも、何とも言えぬなつかしさを漂わせるヴォーカルに引き込まれてしまう心地よさ。不思議なギャップを生みながらも、絶妙な融合による愛すべき世界をつくりあげている。 「お互いの音楽ルーツはバラバラ。でもそれがかえって刺激的だった。」という浅岡雄也(Vo.)の言葉にもあるように、メンバー各々のフェイバリットアーティストは実に多彩であり、個性的でもある。こういったバックボーンの交流が見事に反映されたのが、デビューシングル「君がいたから」、大ヒット2ndシングル「突然」を含む、1stアルバム「FIELD OF VIEW I」だろう。また、いい意味での青臭さを残した浅岡雄也の詞は、今、その経験をイヤというほど味わっている人への励ましでもあり、過ぎたことで片づけられない心の中にある切ない青春の思い出を彷彿させる優しいタッチが印象的でもあった。 「アルバムを制作する際のキーワードは、”ブリティッシュ・サウンド”。これはメンバーの中で共通点としてあるんですよ。それに、英国のサウンドは”切なさ”の濃度が高いでしょ。”切なさ”は僕らの音楽の大事な要素。豪快で陽気なものより、どこかジワジワくる感じの良さは時代を超えて普遍性をもっている。サウンドで意識したことは、バンド名にちなんだ”広大な眺め”を意味する景色が浮かぶようなスケール感のあるものにしようと。」 この言葉だけでも、彼らのアルバムというキャンバスに音で描かれた情景が浮かんできそうである。 　 .

They toured as a warm-up band for Dio, Alice Cooper and RATT on their tour through Sweden in early 2000. There are two EPs out to date: Mexicon (2001) and Stonebeliever (2002).
