The Petards were formed in 1966 in Schrecksbach, Germany. They became one of Germany’s top bands of the sixties, touring and recording extensively until calling it a day in 1972. In 2002 they reformed and are still gigging today. .

A new project commissioned by Unsound and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, The National Fanfare of Kadebostany represents an exciting meeting point between East and West Europe, electronic and acoustic instruments. Kadebostan is Swiss-based producer with releases on Freude Am Tanzen and Fenou, and has performed at past Unsound events, as well as clubs such as Watergate. Rational Diet is an acoustic chamber ensemble based in Minsk, with members in the Belarus Presidential Orchestra. They perform a mix of improvised, experimental and noise music, and have released on the Italian AltrTock label as well as the Polish label Audiotong....

En 1996, dans le village rom de Zece Prajini, près de la frontière moldave en Roumanie une fanfare gitane répète pour son seul plaisir. Plus personne ne s’intéresse à elle car on lui préfère largement la "gypsy pop" alors en vogue. Mais deux jeunes musiciens allemands passionnés de musique de l’Est, Helmut Neumann et Henry Ernst, sont subjugués et décident de rassembler les meilleurs éléments du village et de les faire venir en Allemagne l’année suivante pour une quinzaine de concerts.
